Our annual Stockmens Dinner is being held Saturday January 28, 2012 at the Highwood Memorial Center in High River. Tickets are $50 and will be available from Directors starting mid-December.
The Heritage Ranch Rodeo in Edmonton was held Nov 6/7/8 2011 and the Bar U Ranch was represented by the Meadow Springs Ranch from Mountain View, AB. They were one of the final 8 teams to compete on Tuesday night but were unable to crack the top 3 spots.
Results:
1st place: Gang Ranch, BC
2nd: High Plains Ranch, SK
3rd: Douglas Lake Ranch, BC
Top Hand: Jim Orr, High Plains Ranch
Bronc Rider: Colter Schlosser, Mesabi Ranch, Nanton, AB
Ranch Horse: Kyle Keats
At our annual Friends of the Bar U Barbecue we recognized Carole Hergert and Maxine Nelson for their years of volunteer work for our organization while at the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner in October Parks Canada Bar U recognized Rose Dayment for her work and Parks Canada recognized Lorne Fuller for his many years of volunteer work. All very well deserving folks.

Early Fall, 2011
Several 2011 Special Events wrapped up recently at the Bar U Ranch... among them Polo, the annual Trail Ride, the Ranch Rodeo and most recently, the Chore Horse Competition. Scroll down to view photos from each event.

Bar U Polo was held at the ranch on July 24; this year the Traditionals beat the Cowboys with a 7-1 score. The day saw perfect summer weather and a great turn out for the event.

A very successful Trail Ride was held on Sat. Aug 6 with about 60 participants.

The Ranch Rodeo was held on Sun. Aug 14.
Results for the 12 teams competing:
 1st place to Meadow Springs Ranch from Mountain View
2nd to Soderglen Ranch from Airdrie
3rd to Rocking P Ranch from Nanton
Blake Schlosser from the Rocking P won the Top Hand award.
* Meadow Spring will be representing the Bar U at the Heritage Ranch Rodeo in Edmonton this fall.
